In Sanskrit, Mandara refers to a sacred mountain used in ancient legend as a churning rod to extract the nectar of immortality from the cosmic ocean. It is a word that carries with it the ideas of depth, transformation, and the hidden gifts of the earth itself.
There is no more fitting name for a resort built on the slopes of Mt. Makiling — one of the Philippines' most sacred and storied peaks — in Los Baños, a town whose very name (the baths) speaks to the geothermal spring waters that bubble up from deep within the mountain.
The owners of Mandara Villa were moved by a transformative journey to Bali — by its architecture of intricate carved wood, its philosophy of sanctuary, and its belief that the place where you rest should restore something in you. They returned to the Philippines with a clear vision: to bring that spirit home.
And so they built Mandara Villa: not just a vacation house, but a designed retreat — where the sacred mountain's geothermal waters feed a private pool, where Balinese carved doorframes frame views of tropical gardens, where every material, every object, every lamp is chosen to make you feel the particular peace that comes from being completely, privately, beautifully away.
Your group, your space, your time. Mandara Villa is reserved exclusively for one group at a time — no other guests, no shared amenities, no schedules imposed on your rest.
Beauty without pretense. Mandara Villa is designed to be lived in — a fully-equipped kitchen, air-conditioned bedrooms, and amenities that treat you like family, not a hotel guest.
Every element — from the hand-carved mandala headboard to the lotus motif sign — is chosen with intention. Balinese design philosophy holds that beauty in your environment shapes the beauty of your experience.
The natural hot spring pool is the heart of the villa — real geothermal water from deep within Mt. Makiling, warm and mineral-rich, flowing into your private backyard. Nature's gift, made intimate.
Whether it's a family reunion, a barkada getaway, or a milestone celebration, Mandara Villa is designed around the idea that the best moments happen when people gather together with room to breathe.
Only 1.5 hours from Metro Manila via SLEX — close enough to be convenient, far enough to feel like you've truly left. The slopes of Mt. Makiling have a way of quieting the noise of the city.
Inspired by a transformative visit to Bali, the owners set out to build a private sanctuary that would bring the serenity of Balinese architecture and philosophy to the hot spring hills of Los Baños.
The villa was designed around Los Baños' famous geothermal hot springs, incorporating natural spring water into a private pool at the heart of the property.
Mandara Villa opened its doors as a fully private, exclusively-yours Bali-inspired resort in the Springdale Garden community of Lalakay, Los Baños, Laguna.
Word spread through social media, with guests sharing the villa's distinctive night pool, Balinese carved doorframes, and Adirondack lounge chairs. The brand grew to 388+ Instagram followers.
Mandara Villa continues to welcome families, friend groups, and couples seeking a private, peaceful Bali-in-Laguna escape — just 1.5 hours from Metro Manila.
The swimming pool, jacuzzi, and poolside lounge are some of the highlights — designed for pure relaxation and comfort. Enjoy a refreshing swim, unwind in the soothing jacuzzi, or lounge poolside while taking in the calm and privacy of the villa.
